Coffee and tea is one of the most crowded shelves in affiliate marketing. The $0.38 average EPC across 455 programs tells a story of saturation: household names like Nespresso and Keurig dominate search traffic but publish thin or zero performance data, while a cluster of niche DTC roasters and equipment specialists quietly deliver multiples of that average. LELIT, a premium espresso machine maker on Impact, shows a $4.47 EPC. Seattle Coffee Gear, also on Impact, follows at $4.38. Neither is a household name. Both substantially outperform the category mean.

The vertical splits into three distinct segments with different affiliate economics. Equipment programs — espresso machines, grinders, brewers — carry higher average basket sizes but lower conversion rates; a buyer comparing a $400 grinder will take time. Consumables — beans, pods, tea leaves — convert faster but on smaller baskets, making commission rate more consequential. Subscription programs sit in between: conversion is lower than impulse purchases, but lifetime value can extend well beyond the single reported transaction. Understanding which segment your audience inhabits shapes every other programme decision.

We tracked 455 program listings across 10 networks. Of those, 141 are ghosts — they appear in network directories but publish no performance data whatsoever. A further 114 report a zero EPC, often reflecting very low click volumes rather than genuine non-performance. This report focuses on the 200 programs that report a positive EPC, supplemented by commission rate data where EPC is absent but rates are unusually strong.

Best Coffee & Tea Affiliate Programs by EPC

This table ranks the leading coffee and tea programs from our database. The composite ranking weighs EPC first, then data completeness. Programs where a single metric is flagged may still warrant consideration if the supporting data is sound.

Avg Basket

LELIT manufactures premium espresso machines and coffee grinders aimed at the serious home barista. The $4.47 EPC is the highest verified positive figure in this vertical, though it sits in flagged territory: the absence of conversion rate, cookie duration, and basket size data on Impact means the calculation rests on a sample that cannot be independently audited. The 8% commission rate is generous by equipment standards; applied to the kind of basket that espresso machines command — entry-level LELIT models list above $400, with flagship grinders exceeding $700 — the per-sale commission is meaningful even at modest conversion rates.

The practical constraint is audience fit. LELIT occupies a premium niche: it is recommended by barista professionals and competes against established names like Breville and De’Longhi. Affiliates who write about coffee craft, espresso technique, or home brewing upgrades have a clear path. General food or lifestyle audiences are less likely to drive equipment conversions at this price point. Until Impact publishes conversion and cookie data for this listing, treat the EPC as a signal worth monitoring rather than a projection to build campaign plans around.

Seattle Coffee Gear is a specialist US retailer selling espresso machines, grinders, and accessories from brands including Breville, Jura, and Rocket Espresso. The $4.38 EPC sits in flagged territory and carries the same caveat as LELIT: Impact does not publish conversion rate, cookie duration, or average basket data for this listing, so the figure cannot be decomposed. The 1.0% commission rate is among the lowest in the category, consistent with a high-AOV equipment retailer operating on thin margins. To produce a $4.38 EPC at 1%, the implied product of basket size and conversion rate must exceed $438 — plausible for a specialist espresso machine retailer with a motivated audience, but requiring a large basket, a high conversion rate, or both.

Seattle Coffee Gear appears twice in our database under the same Impact brand key with slightly different EPC readings ($4.38 and $2.97), suggesting multiple programme configurations or different measurement windows. The $4.38 figure is used here as the higher of the two. Affiliates should open the Impact dashboard and check current click volume before drawing conclusions. If the underlying click count is under 100, the EPC should be treated as directional noise rather than a projection basis.

Best for: Coffee equipment reviewers and home brewing enthusiasts in the US market

Thanksgiving Coffee Company is the most data-complete high-performing programme in this vertical. The full set of meaningful metrics — EPC, commission, conversion rate, reversal rate, and average basket — are all disclosed, and they add up coherently. At 15% of $71.67, the per-sale commission is $10.75. A 13.2% conversion rate is high for a specialty consumables purchase but not implausible for a brand that has built a loyal following around sustainability and award-winning roasts. The 0.8% reversal rate is effectively negligible. The $1.42 EPC is both plausible and verifiable against the disclosed inputs — internal consistency that is rare in this vertical.

The brand sells artisan-roasted, organic, shade-grown specialty coffee, positioning explicitly on ethical sourcing. That specificity is a commercial advantage: it provides a concrete editorial angle — sustainable coffee, fair-trade sourcing — that aligns with audiences who self-select for values-led purchasing. A 26-day cookie is slightly shorter than the 30-day category standard but remains practical for content surfacing in evergreen search. This is the programme to benchmark other consumables listings against.

Fabula Coffee’s 25% commission rate is the highest in our top 10 and one of the highest across the entire 455-program set. The brand sells certified organic, low-acid, single-origin, non-GMO coffee freshly roasted and shipped direct to consumer. That positioning — health-conscious, premium, DTC — explains the generosity: Fabula is a subscription business competing for customer acquisition, and affiliate commissions function as its primary paid channel. A 25% rate on a $40–60 coffee bag order puts commission in the $10–15 per-sale range, which at even a 2–3% conversion rate would generate an EPC above the $1.31 currently reported.

The gap between the high commission rate and the moderate EPC deserves attention. Impact does not publish conversion rate or average basket for this listing, so it is not possible to audit whether the EPC reflects low traffic volume, a poor conversion funnel, or an early-stage data window. The 25% rate is confirmed in the Impact network. Affiliates with health-conscious audiences should note this programme and request current performance data from the brand directly before committing significant content resource.

Origin Coffee has the highest disclosed conversion rate in our reviewed set at 24.1%, fractionally below the 25% threshold that would trigger an outlier flag. At a $65.84 average basket and 6% commission, each sale yields approximately $3.95. Multiplied by a 24.1% conversion rate, the implied EPC is around $0.95 — which matches the reported figure precisely. This internal consistency is rare in this vertical and gives unusual confidence in the data. Origin Coffee is a UK-based specialty roaster with strong direct brand recognition in British specialty coffee circles, which explains the high conversion: visitors who arrive are already brand-aware buyers.

The 6.8% reversal rate is the only cautionary note. It is manageable, but should be factored into earnings projections — particularly for affiliates driving broader traffic that may include impulse buyers who subsequently cancel subscriptions. Effective commission after reversals drops to approximately 5.6%. The 28-day cookie aligns with the category standard. This programme is a reliable choice for UK-focused coffee content, with the caveat that the reversal rate deserves monitoring as click volume grows.

Jing Tea is the standout pure-tea programme in this dataset. The 0.0% reversal rate is the headline figure: every commission earned sticks. That matters disproportionately in a category where some programmes report reversal rates above 15%. The $52.08 average basket is substantial for a loose-leaf tea retailer, reflecting Jing’s premium positioning — the brand imports single-garden and single-origin teas with more than 20 years of documented provenance. The 19.1% conversion rate indicates buyers who arrive at Jing are already in an elevated purchase intent state, likely having been directed from recommendation-focused content rather than broad search.

Jing Tea also appears on Awin (GB market, $0.52 EPC, 30-day cookie) giving affiliates a network choice. The Skimlinks listing delivers the higher EPC ($0.75 versus $0.52) and includes full metric disclosure; it is the better-evidenced option for most content strategies. The 24-day cookie is slightly shorter than the Awin 30-day window, but the EPC advantage outweighs the minor reduction. This is one of the cleaner programmes in the vertical: complete data, zero reversals, and a defined premium audience. It earns a straightforward recommendation for UK and international tea audiences.

Bean Box presents an unusual combination: a 21.5% commission rate on a $99.41 average basket implies a per-sale commission of approximately $21.37 — the highest implied per-transaction earning among programmes where basket size is disclosed. The 3.2% conversion rate is lower than Thanksgiving Coffee Company or Jing Tea, which explains why the EPC ($0.68) is modest despite the generous commission. Bean Box customers are making a considered purchase: curated specialty coffee tasting boxes and gift subscriptions from premier US roasters are not impulse buys. The payoff for attracting the right buyer is substantial in per-transaction terms.

The 0.0% reversal rate is a significant reliability signal. Gift subscriptions and curated boxes typically carry lower reversal rates than direct subscriptions because the recipient receives the product in full before any cancellation decision arises. Bean Box ships to the US, Japan, and France, providing international affiliates a path if their audience extends beyond North America. The 25-day cookie sits within the normal window. This programme rewards patience and targeted content: articles aimed at gift-givers, specialty coffee discovery audiences, or subscription box reviewers will outperform broad promotional approaches.

Fire Department Coffee is a veteran-owned, firefighter-run operation that sells coffee and supports first responder causes. The 15% commission rate matches Thanksgiving Coffee Company and is high for a consumables programme. The $1.03 EPC is above the vertical median ($0.15) and consistent with a brand that has a defined and loyal audience segment: buyers who want their coffee purchase to carry a values statement. Impact does not publish conversion rate or basket data here, so the EPC cannot be decomposed, but the combination of strong commission and above-median EPC suggests the funnel performs adequately for its target audience.

Fire Department Coffee also appears on AvantLink (15% commission) and Mavely (10.5%), making it one of the multi-network programmes in this vertical. Impact delivers the highest EPC at $1.03; the FlexOffers listing currently shows no EPC or commission data — a newer listing that had not yet accumulated reportable performance at the time of data pull. For affiliates with audiences that include veterans, first responders, or patriotically-oriented buyers, the Impact listing is the natural starting point. Outside that audience segment, the lack of conversion data makes the programme harder to project against.

Best for: Veteran-community bloggers, first responder support sites, and socially conscious coffee audiences

Programmes with Notable Commission Rates but Thin EPC Data

Several programmes carry commission rates or conversion figures worth noting even where full EPC data is absent. Baratza — a professional-grade grinder brand recommended by working baristas — shows a $1.62 EPC on Impact with an 8% commission, but lacks conversion and basket data. The $1.62 EPC falls in flagged territory for this vertical. Trade Coffee on Impact ($1.21 EPC, 6% commission) operates a curated subscription model linking consumers to independent roasters; the FlexOffers listing at $0.64 EPC confirms the programme converts, but the cross-network EPC divergence suggests meaningful traffic quality or audience differences. Fresh Roasted Coffee on CJ shows a $0.97 EPC with a 10% commission — no basket data, but the EPC is consistent with a midrange consumables programme performing near the top of the category average.

What About Nespresso, Keurig, Starbucks, and the Household Names?

The most recognisable brands in coffee command search traffic and brand recognition that niche DTC programmes cannot match. Their affiliate performance data is another matter: either absent, thin, or underwhelming relative to their commercial scale.

Nespresso runs multiple regional programmes on Awin. The Brazilian listing (NESPRESSO BR) delivers the highest EPC in the Nespresso family at $1.86 with a 30-day cookie and no disclosed commission rate. European listings perform significantly worse: Nespresso DE shows $0.32 EPC with a 60-day cookie and 6% commission; Nespresso NL shows $0.17 EPC. The Skimlinks global listing sits at $0.04 EPC on approximately 6% commission. Nespresso is not a ghost — it publishes some data — but performance is highly market-dependent. Affiliates targeting non-Brazilian audiences will find results substantially below the category average.

Keurig appears on four networks. The most informative listing is FlexOffers (3.6% commission, $0.10 EPC). Skimlinks shows a 1% commission and effectively zero EPC on the Keurig Commercial listing. Mavely offers 10.5% commission with no EPC data. Rakuten lists 4.5% with no EPC. The pattern is consistent: Keurig drives significant direct revenue but converts affiliate traffic poorly. Buyers likely use affiliate links early in research and then purchase directly or through Amazon. None of the four network listings produces an EPC above $0.10.

Starbucks has one listing in our database — Starbucks CN CPS on Skimlinks — which is a ghost: no EPC, no commission rate, no performance data. The broader Starbucks consumer brand does not operate a meaningful public affiliate programme for English-language markets.

Tassimo (Jacobs/Mondelez) is the most fragmented major brand, with listings across Awin (multiple markets), Skimlinks, Partnerize, and FlexOffers. The best single listing is Tassimo ES on Awin (Spain, $0.68 EPC, 10% commission, 30-day cookie). UK listings perform worse: Tassimo UK on Skimlinks shows $0.08 EPC. Lavazza has UK, US, and German Skimlinks listings; the US listing shows $0.10 EPC on a 12.8% commission — respectable rate, negligible EPC. DolceGusto BR on Awin ($2.18 EPC) is noteworthy for an opposite reason: the EPC is real but the 1-day cookie makes attribution nearly impossible for content affiliates. A buyer who researches and then returns the next day to purchase receives no credit.

The common thread is structural. High brand recognition drives direct bookmarks and return-visit purchases that affiliate cookies cannot capture. Programmes run by brands with very high consumer awareness are disadvantaged for content affiliates relative to niche brands where the affiliate functions as genuine discovery. That is why Thanksgiving Coffee Company and Jing Tea outperform Keurig and Tassimo in EPC terms despite having a fraction of the brand recognition.

Same Brand, Different Networks: Where the Terms Diverge

Several coffee and tea brands maintain parallel programmes across multiple networks with meaningfully different commission rates, EPC figures, and market scope. Selecting the wrong network for a given brand can cost a material fraction of potential earnings. These are the most instructive cases in our dataset.

Data Insights

Coffee & Tea Affiliate Programs: What the Data Shows

The 56% ghost rate is the first structural fact of this vertical. More than half of the 455 programs in our database publish no positive EPC data. This exceeds the rate we observe in hotels (54.2%) and reflects two dynamics: a large number of small DTC brands that joined affiliate networks during the direct-to-consumer expansion and have since generated too few clicks to produce a meaningful EPC; and household names whose affiliate listings are effectively dormant — present in the directory but unsupported by active publisher recruitment or meaningful terms.

Data Insight: The Equipment vs. Consumables Commission Split

Equipment programmes (espresso machines, grinders, brewers) dominate the high-EPC end of this vertical — LELIT at $4.47 and Seattle Coffee Gear at $4.38 are both equipment specialists. But equipment commissions are constrained by retailer margin: Seattle Coffee Gear pays only 1.0%, limiting per-sale earnings relative to basket size. Consumables programmes (beans, pods, tea) pay higher rates because DTC margins are better and customer lifetime value justifies acquisition spend: Fabula Coffee 25%, Thanksgiving Coffee 15%, Bean Box 21.5%. The optimal affiliate portfolio includes both segments: equipment content earns larger per-sale commissions in absolute terms; consumables content earns more per click on smaller baskets with repeat purchase potential.

The commission rate distribution across the 455 programs spans 1.0% (Seattle Coffee Gear) to 25.0% (Fabula Coffee), with an average of 9.0%. Most midrange specialty coffee brands cluster between 10% and 15%. Commission rate alone is an unreliable proxy for programme value. Bean Box pays 21.5% on a $99.41 basket but converts at 3.2%, yielding a $0.68 EPC. Thanksgiving Coffee pays 15% on a $71.67 basket and converts at 13.2%, yielding $1.42. The conversion rate difference more than compensates for the basket size and commission rate differences between the two. This is a vertical where conversion rate — when disclosed — carries more predictive weight than commission rate.

Data Insight: The Reversal Rate Trap

One programme in the extended dataset warrants a specific caution. TBDx Inc. (tracked as xbloom.com on Skimlinks) shows an 18.5% reversal rate on a $400.86 average basket with a 10.9% commission. At face value the per-sale gross commission is approximately $43.69. After reversals, effective earnings drop to approximately $35.61 per completed sale — a 18.5% reduction in headline projections. Affiliates who factor only gross commission into their earnings models will consistently over-forecast income from programmes with elevated reversal rates. Apply the reversal rate to every commission projection before treating a programme as viable.

Market geography matters more in this vertical than in most. Brazil accounts for multiple high-EPC Awin listings — DolceGusto BR ($2.18 EPC, 1-day cookie), NESPRESSO BR ($1.86 EPC), Café L’or BR ($1.16 EPC) — that are structurally inaccessible to English-language affiliates targeting US or UK audiences. Germany has its own cluster: Cupper Teas DE (with a 29.7% conversion rate that is flagged as an outlier), Coffee B DE, frogcoffee DE. Switzerland contributes Delizio B2B CH, the most extreme outlier in the dataset at $67.68 EPC and 50% conversion — both figures almost certainly reflect a very small click sample. Affiliates should confirm the geographic scope of any programme in the network dashboard before building content around it.

Cookie duration is remarkably consistent across the vertical. Most programmes cluster at 30 days on Awin and 24–28 days on Skimlinks. The outliers are notable: coffee.org on Awin offers a 90-day cookie — the longest in the vertical — which is useful for content that targets buyers in an early research phase. DolceGusto BR runs at 1 day, effectively preventing content attribution. Impact programmes frequently omit cookie data entirely; the network default is 30 days unless otherwise stated in the programme terms.

How to Choose a Coffee or Tea Affiliate Programme

The first question to answer is which segment your content serves: equipment, consumables, or subscriptions. Equipment audiences are in a considered purchase phase — comparing machines and grinders over days or weeks. Content that serves this phase (reviews, comparisons, setup guides) benefits from longer cookie windows and can tolerate lower conversion rates because each successful referral carries a larger basket. Consumables and subscription audiences are closer to purchase; a recommendation in a recipe post or morning-routine article can convert in a single session. For these audiences, conversion rate and reversal rate matter more than basket size.

Second, prioritise programmes where you can audit the full data set. The standard in this vertical is a Skimlinks listing with EPC, commission, conversion rate, reversal rate, and average basket size all disclosed. Thanksgiving Coffee Company, Jing Tea, Bean Box, and Origin Coffee meet this standard. They allow realistic revenue projections before content investment. Impact listings frequently omit conversion and basket data; Awin discloses some metrics but rarely all five; CJ and FlexOffers are patchier still. Programmes that disclose only EPC and commission — the majority in this vertical — require back-of-envelope estimates that may be materially wrong.

Third, check the reversal rate before relying on any programme for material income. A 10% reversal rate on a 15% commission programme reduces effective commission to 13.5% — manageable. An 18% reversal rate, as seen in one equipment brand in our data, reduces effective earnings by nearly a fifth and makes programme performance harder to forecast. Programmes with 0% reversal rates — Jing Tea, Bean Box, Kloo, The Tea Spot — offer the cleanest earnings picture and lowest forecast variance.

Finally, confirm market fit before writing content. Several of the highest-EPC programmes in this vertical serve Brazil, Germany, or Switzerland. If your audience is primarily English-speaking and based in the US or UK, these listings will generate clicks that do not convert. Confirm the geographic scope of any programme in the network dashboard before committing to it. When a programme appears on multiple networks, check whether the listings represent the same market or different ones — Nespresso’s Brazilian Awin listing at $1.86 EPC is a different product from the European Awin listing at $0.32.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best coffee affiliate programs?

Based on our analysis of 455 programs across 10 networks, the highest-EPC coffee and tea affiliate programs are LELIT ($4.47), Seattle Coffee Gear ($4.38), and Encha Matcha ($3.36) — all Impact listings, all flagged as likely small-sample. Among programs with complete data, Thanksgiving Coffee Company (15% commission, $71.67 average basket, 13.2% conversion on Skimlinks) and Bean Box (21.5% commission, $99.41 basket, 0% reversals on Skimlinks) offer the most complete and trustworthy performance picture.

How much commission do coffee affiliate programs pay?

Across 455 coffee and tea affiliate programs, the average commission rate is 9.0%. Rates range from under 1% for some equipment resellers to 25% for niche DTC brands like Fabula Coffee. Bean Box pays 21.5% on a $99.41 average basket; Thanksgiving Coffee Company offers 15% on a $71.67 basket. Commission rate alone is a poor guide — what matters is commission multiplied by average basket size and conversion rate. The programme with the highest commission in our top 10 does not have the highest EPC.

What is the typical cookie duration for coffee affiliate programs?

The average cookie duration across coffee and tea programs that report one is 28 days. Most programs use a 30-day window on Awin. The shortest in our dataset is DolceGusto BR on Awin at 1 day — effectively unusable for content affiliates. The longest is coffee.org on Awin at 90 days. Impact-hosted programs frequently omit cookie data; the network default is 30 days unless stated otherwise in the programme terms.

Are there cross-network differences for coffee brands?

Yes, and they are substantial. Trade Coffee shows a $1.21 EPC on Impact but only $0.64 on FlexOffers. Nespresso ranges from $1.86 EPC on Awin Brazil to near-zero on Skimlinks globally. Black Rifle Coffee pays 12% via Impact but 9.6% on FlexOffers, with EPC dropping from $0.84 to $0.17. Lifeboost Coffee varies from $1.05 EPC on Impact to $0.08 on FlexOffers. Always verify which network listing corresponds to your target market before applying.

Why do some coffee programs show very high EPC figures?

Programs like Delizio B2B CH ($67.68 EPC, 50% conversion) and LELIT ($4.47 EPC) carry a flag flag in our table. These figures are far outside the vertical norm — the verified median EPC for this vertical is $0.15 — and almost certainly reflect a very small click sample, a test campaign, or a data artifact on the network side. We flag any EPC above $1.50 (ten times the median) for this reason. Always verify flagged figures inside the network dashboard, checking the underlying click volume, before building content plans around them.

What should I consider when choosing a coffee or tea affiliate program?

Prioritise programs with complete performance data: EPC, commission rate, conversion rate, reversal rate, and average basket size. Only Skimlinks-listed programs in this vertical routinely publish all five. Check the reversal rate before relying on any programme: an 18.5% reversal rate reduces effective earnings by nearly a fifth. Consider whether your audience skews toward equipment (higher baskets, lower conversion) or consumables (more repeat purchase potential, higher commission rates). Confirm that the programme market geography matches your traffic — several high-EPC listings in this vertical serve Brazil, Germany, or Switzerland exclusively, and will not convert for English-language audiences.

Methodology

This analysis covers 455 coffee & tea affiliate programs tracked across 10 networks including Skimlinks, Awin, Impact, FlexOffers, CJ, Mavely, Rakuten, Pepperjam, AvantLink, and Partnerize. Performance data (EPC, conversion rate, reversal rate) is pulled from network APIs and updated regularly. Commission rates reflect default publisher tiers — negotiated rates may differ. Programs with no performance data ("ghost programs") are excluded from EPC averages but included in total counts. The EPC flag threshold for this vertical is $1.50 (ten times the median positive EPC of $0.15); any program above this threshold receives a flag note. Last updated: March 8, 2026.
